Weeks after the sluice gate at the Cummings canal broke resulting in the flooding of Kingston and its environs, the new koker door is still yet to be fully functional.

Checks on the door yesterday by this newspaper revealed that the dummy door is still in place.

City Engineer Lloyd Alleyne at a press briefing recently said that the door had been completed, and that they were waiting to have all the components in place to have the door ready. This was over two weeks ago.

On March 13th after the sluice gate at Cummings canal collapsed, residents watched in despair as water levels in the Lamaha Street canal and others rose rapidly.

Many streets, yards and compounds were inundated including those of the State House and the Ministry of Finance.
