T/dad under pressure after Parchment, Lambert half centuries

KINGSTON, Jamaica,  CMC – Trinidad and Tobago were facing a battle to stay in contention in their sixth round match in the Regional Four-Day Championship, after half-centuries from opener Brenton Parchment and captain Tamar Lambert put Jamaica in firm control here yesterday.

Playing on the second day of the Sabina Park contest, Parchment stroked an unbeaten 60 and Lambert, 51, as Jamaica cruised to 184 for four at the close, an overall lead of 210.

Earlier, T&T crumbled to 121 all out in their first innings, to concede a lead of 26. Starting the day on 36 for one, the visitors were undermined by left-arm seamer Sheldon Cotterell who snared five for 43 and seamer David Bernard Jr who finished with three for 18.

Andrew Richardson claimed two for 29.

Opener Lendl Simmons, not out 25 overnight, top scored with 39 while Rayad Emrit chipped in with 29.
