The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 0300h today at New Hope Public Road, EBD, and which resulted in the death of Denzil Thomas, 21 years, of Timehri, EBD and Qunicy David, 22 years, of Soesdyke, EBD.
Police say that investigations revealed that the driver of motor car PFF 204 was proceeding along the roadway, allegedly at a fast rate, when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a utility pole and a concrete fence.
As a result Thomas, David and Amanda Lloyd, 21 years, of Soesdyke, who were passengers in the motor vehicle, suffered injuries. They were taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where Denzil Thomas and Quincy David succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
Lloyd has been admitted to the GPHC for further medical treatment.
The driver of the motor car has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
