All Greys, compliments of an Azad De Abreu double in the sixteenth and fiftieth minutes defeated St Stanislaus 5-1 as action in the John Fernandes Insurance Service (JFIS) second division hockey league continued at the St Stanislaus Recreational ground Carifesta Avenue yesterday.
The rout began in the very first minute through a Marcus Fiedtkou conversion and further goals from Damon Woodroffe and Philip Fernandes in the thirty forth and forty second minutes respectively would effectively end the contest.
Yannick Peters was sole bright spot for the young Saints unit as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the sixty fourth minute.
In the opening fixture, Hikers, through an Akeem Thompson hat-trick in the fourth, sixth and fifty fourth minutes defeated Airbenders 6-2. Hikers would break the dead lock in the very first minute through a Leon Bacchus effort.
Bacchus would complete his brace in the twelfth minute with Shaquille Assanah padding the resulting score line through a twenty ninth minute effort. Gabriella Xavier and Cora Towler were on target in a losing cause in the sixtieth and sixty second minutes respectively.
Action continues today at the same venue with Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) tackling Old Fort in the opening matchup at 14:30hrs while Hikers will try to add to their tally as take on Saints at 16:00hrs.
