A truck going into Big Creek, North West District toppled yesterday afternoon killing one woman while seriously injuring three others. Police today identified the woman as Angela Lawrence, 35 years, of Mabaruma, NWD, who was in the cab of the vehicle was pinned and later pronounced DOA at the Matthew’s Ridge Hospital.
According to a source, the truck was taking rations and fuel into Big Creek when it toppled, reportedly because of the terrain, killing the woman who was in the truck with about ten other persons.
Stabroek News understands that the three who were seriously injured were air-dashed to the city to receive treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) and arrived at the Ogle International Airport around 1:00am today.
The accident comes on the heels of another at Buck Hall on Saturday which claimed the lives of four persons.
