The University of Guyana (UG) is launching a preliminary clean-up campaign on Friday as it embarks on a roster of activities planned to observe its 50th anniversary.
In a press release, UG said a first exercise under ‘Operation Clean Up’ is for departments to organise internal sprucing up of their own spaces.
Students and volunteers are asked to assist in the cleaning of the George Walcott Lecture Theatre in time for the hosting of an inter-faith service on Friday April 19. Volunteers for this exercise are asked to assemble at this location at noon on Friday to start working on the theatre.
UG is also urging students and volunteers to show their love and pride for the institution by participating in the cleaning exercise.
UG was established on April 19, 1963.
