(Jamaica Gleaner) A massive police operation is now underway in East Kingston following this morning’s murder of a Jamaica Public Service contractor and his assistant on Lynford Avenue, off Lyndhurst Road in St Andrew.
During the incident, the contractor who was also a licensed firearm holder, killed one of the gunmen who had attacked them.
According to the police, around 9 o’clock, the businessman and his employee were at the business place when gunmen entered.
The police say three guns including the weapon of the businessman were seized by the St Andrew Central Police along with several rounds of ammunition.
The police also say three persons were taken into custody and are currently being interviewed by investigators.
Police have since taken their probe to Homestead Road in East Kingston where one of the suspects lived.
