Police say that at about 1530h yesterday, Shao Yang Dong, 50 years, was in his restaurant at Lamaha Street, Georgetown, when five men entered, two of whom were armed with handguns.
One of the armed men shot Dong to his right thigh after which the perpetrators took away an undisclosed sum of cash. They then held up a patron and took away his jewellery and cash and escaped.
Dong has been admitted to the GPHC for medical treatment, Police said.
Investigations are in progress.
