A South Ruimveldt man was shot dead late last night in what investigators are treating as a robbery/murder, Crime Chief Seelall Persaud this morning confirmed.
Persaud gave the dead man’s name as Orin Joseph, 52, of 1223 Gaulin Place South Ruimveldt. The shooting occurred around 23:40 hrs.
He explained that the man’s wife who is the president of the dominoes association was holding a competition at the home when blackout hit the area.
Thereafter persons left and according to Persaud, Joseph went outside to take his car in.
Thereafter, the wife said, she heard four explosions and Joseph’s body was found.
Persaud said the man was known to wear lots of jewellery and a gold band and chain he had on were missing.
According to the crime chief little information has been gathered because not only was the area dark but no one was around when the shooting occurred.
