A Berbice bus driver and a woman were this afternoon shot and wounded during an armed robbery near the High Court.
Hospital officials gave the names of the injured as Lex Carpen and Sherlee Cosbert. They were shot in the right knee and left foot respectively. Stabroek News understands that shortly before 2 pm Carpen was sitting in his route 50 minibus when the gunmen came up and robbed him of over $200,000. During the robbery he was shot. As the bandits fled on a motor cycle they discharged a round which hit Cosbert. Both were rushed to the Georgetown Hospital where they are receiving medical attention.
