Alpha United on Sunday defeated Rosignol United 2-0 at the Blairmont Community Centre ground in a match of the Guyana Football Federation’s Super League competition.
Alpha United’s goals were scored in each half by Andrew Murray Jr., and
Manasseh Primo.
Murray netted in the 30th minute while Primo consolidated his team’s position in injury time.
Over at the Wisburg Ground in Linden, a hat-trick in the second half by Delon Lanferman enabled Uitvlugt Warriors to defeat Amelia’s Ward 4-2.
Lanferman scored in the sixty first, sixty third and seventy first minutes while an own goal by Uitvlugt Warriors’ Leo Ross in the 77th minute accounted for the fourth goal.
Amelia’s Ward had 2-0 going into half time through strikes from Kurt Angus and Gavin Daw in the 40th and 43rd minutes respectively but conceded four goals in the space of sixteen minutes.
In the feature match Den Amstel Porknockers through a Jeffrey Perreira brace in the forty third and sixty third minutes edged Milerock FC 2-1. Dominic Bobb was on target for the Linden unit in the fourth minute.
The action continued in the city at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground Bourda with Pele FC and BV/Triumph United playing to a 1-1 draw. Akin Curry gave BV/Triumph the early lead in the fourth minute only for Pele to equalize through a Stellon David effort in the twenty fifth minute.
In the main encounter of the evening Western Tigers compliments of a Herbert Pedro first half conversion in the forty fifth minute needled Buxton United 1-0.
