The Guyana Rastafari Coun-cil is hosting a national conference aimed at unifying the Rastafari community on Saturday at the FE Pollard School.
According to a press statement, the seminar is a joint collaboration of the Council, the House of Nyahbinghi in Guyana and the Twelve Tribes of Israel. It will be held from 9am to 7pm.
The agenda includes reports from the mansions, discussing and formulating a unified plan of action; reviewing arrangements for the upcoming International Rastafari Conference set for July 16 to 30 at President’s College and identifying ways to stimulate the economic empowerment of the Rastafari mansions.
The conference will be followed on Sunday April 21 with a theocracy assembly and Nyahbinghi praises at the Square of the Revolution near the site of the 1763 Monu-ment to mark the visit of His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Haile Selassie 1 to the Caribbean in 1966.
In addition, a Kademawi Haile Selassie 1 fundraising ice-cream and cake sale will be held at Ras Dalgety’s place at Robb and Alexander streets on Saturday April 27 from 8am. Tickets cost $700.
