A Letter Kenny, Corentyne family on vacation was robbed late Wednesday night.
Reports reaching Stabroek News say that four bandits – three armed with guns carried out the attack.
At the time when Stabroek News visited the scene, no one was at home.
However a neighbour told this publication that Rajpaul Ramotar aka Derrick and his wife along with his children came from French Guiana only two days ago.
Ramotar was having a drink when he was approached by the men who cautioned him not move. Stabroek News understands that after Ramotar was held up he dashed down a stairs causing the gunmen to fire three rounds.
Ramotar was later caught by the men and taken to his room where he took an undisclosed amount of cash and handed it to one of the men in exchange for the man sparing him and his family.
Additionally, the men also approached two women and took their jewellery. Amanda Ramlochan, 27, was robbed of her four gold rings and a gold chain. Meanwhile, Basmattiee Seeram who also occupied the home was robbed of her gold chain.
