Dear Editor,
I would appreciate the opportunity to share a passing thought, or several, on leadership and leading people here. Notice I did not say leading men, but leading people.
I think the President is a swell fellow. Literally. Come to think of it, so are most of his comrades. Twenty years ago, they were lean and hungry to the point of emaciation; today, they are no longer bamboo-thin. I see Cassius reborn many times over, and like that scheming troubled fellow, ruin threatens self and country. And which brings me to another ambitious plotter.
The word around town is that the abuser-in-chief, the champion of crassness and commonness is positioning self for a return to the helm. It is goodbye to a duck out-of-water, and hello (again) to …. Regardless, the bottom line is this: A return is in the works, always was.
Now, one has to wonder what the opposition would have to say, as marbles are positioned and the shell games unfold. Or better yet, how absentees and fence-sitters, and the man-in-the street, intend to respond. Time will tell; it might not be so pleasant.
As I think of all of this, there is the belief that this country must have done some terrible, unforgivable wrong way back yonder. It had twenty-eight years of darkness, then twenty years of wickedness. What is left to be lived, and endured?
Yours faithfully,
GHK Lall
