The Georgetown Cricket Association’s New Building Society (NBS) second division limited overs cricket competition will bowl off this weekend with two matches in each zone. The tournament will be the first to involve the newly-formed Sophia Cricket Club, who will swing into action today.
In Zone A Transport Sports Club (TSC) will meet Sophia Cricket Club at the Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) ground.
Umpires Ashook Brijcoomar and Khemraj Sukhdeo are set to officiate in the match in which the newcomers will look to make an immediate impact.
All the way at Turkeyen the other Zone A match will feature hosts University of Guyana (UG) against GNIC with umpires Joseph Jeffrey and Randolph Rose in charge of the proceedings.
The Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) will travel to Gandhi Youth Organization (GYO) to play Everest Cricket Club. Umpires named for this match are Shannon Crawford and Jogeshwar Goberdhan.
Meanwhile, GYO will be hosted by the Muslim Youth Organization (MYO) at their ground where umpires Linden Matthew & Surendra Oudit will call play from 11 a.m.
