Main opposition APNU on Friday tabled a motion to cut a proposed allocation under the Ministry of Housing in the amount of $150 million to $20 million.
The allocation comes specifically under the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) and under the legend ‘Subsidies and Contributions to Local Organisations.’
Consideration of estimates for proposed spending by the ministry is supposed to be examined next Wednesday.
This proposal comes following a slew of other proposed cuts by APNU, including slashing the Low Carbon Development Programme from $20 billion to $1 billion and reducing the $5.352 billion allocation for the Cheddi Jagan International Airport to $1.
