A mid-morning accident along the Agricola Public Road on the East Bank Demerara left a long pile up of traffic yesterday.
An eyewitness Timothy Amsterdam said the driver of a car which was heading in a northerly direction had halted when a minibus said to be belonging to the Guyana Police Force collided with it from behind.
Amsterdam added that the car had stopped to avoid hitting a pedal cyclist who had suddenly dashed across the road.
When Stabroek News arrived on the scene of the accident both vehicles were already removed and the cyclist was taken away by a police van.
Motorists were upset that it took the police 30 minutes to clear the roadway.
No one was seriously hurt during the accident.
