Police have confirmed that the body of 31-year-old Dwayne Thomas was discovered on Friday just three miles away from where he reportedly drowned.
A source told this newspaper that the decomposed body of Thomas was discovered by the search party which had been searching for the past five days.
The source added that the body was clad in a vest and short pants.
Stabroek News was made to understand that the family has travelled to the Konawaruk River
district to assist with the searches in hope of finding Quacy Rover.
They have identified the body of Thomas.
The brothers, Rover, 37, and Thomas, 31, of 56 West Ruimveldt, went missing last Tuesday after they reportedly fell into the Konawaruk River. According to reports, the brothers, along with another man, were using a boat belonging to a man without permission. When the owner saw them, he reportedly began to throw missiles (stones) at them. While trying to evade the missiles Rover and Thomas reportedly fell into the river.
