PUNE, India, – CMC-Dwayne Bravo’s Chennai Super Kings have consolidated their position at the top of the table in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after scoring a comfortable 37 run victory over the Pune Warriors yesterday.
Super Kings’ soared to 14 points from nine matches after recording their sixth consecutive win at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune.
Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni again led from the front with an unbeaten 16-ball 45 and Suresh Raina remained unbeaten on 63 as Super Kings recovered from a slow start to put up a competitive 164 for three in 20 overs.
Bravo picked up a wicket for 18 runs as Warriors, Chasing a target of 165, ended on 127 for nine when the overs ran out.
The West Indies all-rounder had Rohit Sharma caught at cover for two after playing a check drive to a slower ball.
Warriors are languishing at the bottom of the table with four points also from nine matches.
