Dear Editor,
I read that remittances accounted for some 17% of Guyana’s 2012 GDP, according to the IDB (SN, May 2). When one adds the 23% or 33% or 43% of dirty money pumped into the local GDP, it means that anywhere from 40% to 60% of Guyana’s GDP is on autopilot and from private activities and sources.
In the circumstances, a single question comes to mind: Where is the justification for the presence of the PPP government?
Yours faithfully,
GHK Lall
