Dear Editor,
Some time this year, I penned a letter to your newspaper concerning my observation of two open manholes on the western lane of the Avenue of the Republic which I described as a recipe for disaster. It would seem that the one opposite St Andrews School was repaired, but the other, a few yards from America Street has an open section wide enough to accommodate a car wheel.
It is not a costly exercise to remedy this, since it represents a danger especially at night. I plead with the authorities to put safety first and be proactive.
Yours faithfully,
V O Patrick
