The Ministry of Education says it has been informed that some public and private schools have not yet provided all students sitting the 2013 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination with their timetables.
A release from the ministry said that complaints have been received stating that schools have withheld timetables because of fees owed for school-based activities. The ministry frowns on such practices and advises that schools reverse such actions and ensure that all CSEC candidates are provided with their timetables forthwith.
The ministry emphasised that CSEC candidates should not be denied their rights to uplift their timetables.
The release stated that 13,654 students have signed up to write the CSEC examination this year. The ministry has noted that some students are taking as many as twenty subjects at this sitting.
