Three more witnesses testified yesterday when the Abickie Ferguson murder trial continued before Justice Navindra Singh and a 12-member jury.
The three witnesses were Cardia Shepherd, Stephen Greaves and Nolan Burnette. The remaining witnesses are expected to testify on Monday after which the prosecution is expected to close their case.
Ferguson will then be called upon to lead her defence if the court finds that there is sufficient evidence for a conviction.
Justice Singh will then sum up the evidence of the case and hand it over to the jury for deliberation and a verdict.
Ferguson is before the High Court charged with the murder of her stepfather, Glendon Scipio, which occured at Victoria Street, Plaisance on April 22, 2009.
Ferguson had allegedly stabbed Scipio to death after he had abused her. She had told police that Scipio began to abuse her after she came home from school. She said that he continued to abuse her resulting in her lashing him to his foot and subsequently stabbing him.
The trial continues on Monday.
