Stevenson Belle, last year’s Mr. Barbados arrived in Guyana yesterday ahead of tomorrow’s National Bodybuilding Championships dubbed Muscle Invasion.
Belle’s participation Sunday is as a result of leading supplier of fitness supplements and apparel, Fitness Express which has once again flexed its corporate muscle in support of a sporting discipline.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the 47 Sheriff Street, Campbellville entity, Jaime McDonald has stood the cost air fare for the guest poser.
The company, which has thrown its support behind numerous sporting activities will also award hampers made up of supplements for each category winner at the championships.
In brief remarks, McDonald told this publication that he was “always happy to provide sponsorship and support for any sport whenever I can.”
In excess of 30 musclemen and women will compete for cash prizes, trophies and supplement hampers at tomorrow’s championships.
The male bodybuilders will vie for supremacy in the Under 132 pounds , under 143, under 154, under 164, over 176 and the Master’s category (over 40 years) while the females will compete in the Ms. Physique and Ms. Body Fitness categories.
Showtime for ‘Muscle Invasion’ is 19:00hrs and tickets will cost $1500.
Tickets can be bought at Fitness Express and local gyms.
Sponsors for the event include Malta Supreme, Fitness Express, Guyana Lottery Company, Sterling Products Limited, Trophy Stall, Sleep In and Wind Jammer International Hotels.
Belle is being accommodated by Sleep In on Brickdam.
