After another short delay due to the inclement weather the Hadi’s World Incorporated/City Mall first division, two-day competition is set to resume today and tomorrow with two matches.
The imminent threat of May/June rains in Guyana however means that teams will have to keep one eye on the weather even though the Georgetown Cricket Association has decided to go ahead and schedule matches.
Today, the Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) will play frontrunners the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) at Bourda while at Camp Ayanganna; the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) will host Everest Cricket Club.
With Guyana eliminated from the Regional Four-Day competition, teams should be strengthened by the inclusion of several of national players especially Everest, whose Rajendra Chandrika, Amir Khan, Chanderpaul Hemraj, and Zaheer Mohamed should make their team a formidable first division side.
Meanwhile, the New Building Society’s second division limited overs competition also resumes this weekend after a two-week rain delay with third round matches.
In Zone `A’ Transport Sports Club will oppose the Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) at GNIC while in Zone `B’ Gandhi Youth Organization (GYO) play Everest Cricket Club at Camp Road.
