After serving with distinction in the Parliament of Guyana for 13 years, Deputy Clerk Lilowatie Coonjah proceeded on pre-retirement leave on Friday.
According to a GINA report Coonjah has given 44 continuous years of service to the public sector.
She will be proceeding on full retirement from June 1.
Prime Minister and Leader of the House, Samuel Hinds, Opposition Leader, David Granger and AFC Leader Khemraj Ramjattan all extended gratitude to Coonjah for her dedicated service to the National Assembly and the nation.
Meanwhile, the process has already started to identify a replacement for Coonjah.
