Dear Editor,
The annual audited reports of all the major business enterprises in Guyana are showing higher levels of returns on investments. A survey conducted by one of the private sector organizations in Guyana showed that nearly all of the business enterprises expressed satisfaction with their profit margins.
This is one indication that the economy is doing well, since it is the purchasing power of Guyanese that causes business to prosper and do well.
Banks are also doing well with several new branches being established in all parts of Guyana, including hinterland regions. Parika, which only recently was a sleepy community, is now a business hub with lots of banks and commercial activities. The same can be said of several other areas such as Bartica and Corriverton.
Guyana is going places despite the so-called prophets of doom.
Yours faithfully,
Hydar Ally
