Vinod Balgobin, believed to be responsible for the stabbing to death of his former wife 30 year old Maryann Sunita Nauth, today appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court charged with murder.
Nauth’s body was on Sunday morning discovered in room 209 of the K&VC Hotel on South Road after last leaving her home around 17:00 on Saturday evening. She had told relatives that she was going to meet with Balgobin to collect money for their children.
A post mortem examination revealed that the woman was stabbed a total of 35 times.
