Dear Editor,
As yet another batch of junior employees is fired or forced to resign from the GEA as a result of failing the lie detector test, one can’t help but observe that it is now the second time that a large percentage of the staff has been removed from the job. This implies that there has been no improvement in the performance of the staff from the previous tests. So what guarantee is there that the new batch that will come in to replace this recently removed batch will do any better?
Is this mass removal of the junior staff actually solving the problem? All that seems to be happening is that new faces are coming in, but eventually they will fall prey to the same problems.
If these mass firings/resignations are not solving the problem then the authorities need to look for the core problems outside this level of employees alone. It is probably time that lie detector tests be taken by all levels of staff, from top to bottom. This way an interpretation can be made as to what levels are the cause of the problems.
Yours faithfully,
