Dear Editor,
The following lines came to me as part of an email message on May 12, 2013.
“You have engaged in facilitating the demonization of LFS Burnham over the years and have benefited in projecting an image of pain and victimhood as you evoked sympathies for the WPA, Walter Rodney and his family wherever you spoke and whenever you wrote on this matter. You were never an independent arbiter but a self-righteous accuser and victim. The partial image of the WPA as the innocent one, the victim as told in WPA narratives over the years will be complemented with other perspectives, analyses to present a more holistic understanding of the WPA…”
This is what I and a number of persons received on May 12. I had said nothing about Mr Burnham’s Award so I am accused of being responsible for his demonisation. And my accuser who is a doubtless young, and surely speaks in prophetic tones, warns me to repent before departure from the planet. (There is no repentance after that event.)
It came while I was making sure that what I was about to write in a public statement could be verified. It will come soon.
Our prophetess speaks of my guilt in the demonisation of her model political leader. That is the work of a prophetess. She does not shrink from it.
But in my humble opinion, prophesy must be proclaimed if it is in the public interest.
This is an invitation to the prophetess to bring her public interest accusation to the notice of the general public in whatever name she chooses. All I say now is that I do not admit the accusation. If it is inconvenient for her to use her name, neither will I reveal it.
One thing I admit is that I do have a self-righteous streak.
I informed the gifted prophetess that I do not engage in such matters in email exchanges.
Yours faithfully,
Eusi Kwayana
