HPS and Cabinet Secretary Dr Roger Luncheon yesterday announced that Cabinet green-lighted a $100M contract for drainage works in the agriculture sector, and four other contracts at its May 14 statutory meeting.
At his post-Cabinet media briefing, Luncheon said the $100M contract is for the procurement of civil works in the canals polder, Region Three dealing with control structures, access roads and bridges. A second contract valued $31M was also given the go-ahead for the rehabilitation of irrigation pump number one in Mibicuri, Black Bush Polder, Region Six, a report from GINA said.
In the housing and water sector no objections were offered for a $16.68M contract for the rehabilitation of the water supply system in Matthews Ridge, North West District, Region One.
In addition, in the health sector a US$89.300 contract was given the go-ahead for the procurement of blood donor accessories for the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. Also, in sport no objections were offered for a $48.56M contract for the procurement of a lighting system for the Albion Cricket Ground in Region Six.
