Sonia Noel’s latest collection, First Resort was the toast of St Lucia recently, where it was launched in conjunction with her new magazine makin style.’
According to a press release, two shows were held at the Bay Gardens Resort and another two at as part of the festivities of the St Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival. The Ozone Boutique in the JQ Rodney Bay Mall is now carrying the collection.
Pieces from the collection were worn by Caribbean travel journalist and host of Island Xclusive (aired on CBS1 Caribbean), Jeanille Bonterre as well as others.
The collection will be the closing act on one of the nights of the Tobago Fashion Week. Local celebrated runway queens, Meleesa Payne and Yohlanda Kerr are included in the cast for the Tobago Fashion Week as well as the designs of Marcie DosSantos, a young Guyanese designer who is making headways on the local scene.
First Resort then moves to Atlanta, Georgia for the Guyana Family Fun Day on Memorial Day Weekend. The makin’ style magazine will also be launched in Atlanta at this event and then at the Caribbean Week in New York on June 2, along with the First Resort line, the release said.
Meanwhile, Sonia is also preparing for the sixth edition of the Guyana Fashion Weekend, and casting auditions for models and designers will be announced shortly.
