Former West Indies U19 skipper Leon Johnson will lead the Georgetown Lions team to contest this weekend’s Independence T20 Cup at the Albion Sports Complex ground, Berbice.
The team also includes Trevon Griffith, Chanderpaul Hemraj, who was recently selected for the 2013-2014 Sagicor High Performance
Centre programme along with a handful of experienced players such as the dangerous Andrew Lyght (Jr), former national wicket keeper Derwin Christian and Robin Bacchus.
National player Paul Wintz will elad the bowling department with support from Seon Daniels and Terrence Forde.
West Indies T20 allrounder Christopher Barnwell, a member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team which was eliminated Sunday from the Indian Premier League is also expected to play. The four-team competition is being held in honour of Guyana’s 47th Independence anniversary.
