Justice Brassington Reynolds is expected to rule today on the admissibility of a statement by murder accused Rudolph Williams.
Williams, who is accused of killing Naomi Singh on May 1, 2009 in Essequibo, is on trial in the High Court and a voir dire (trial within a trial) is being conducted to determine the admissibility of a statement he allegedly gave to the police.
When the trial continued yesterday, Williams was asked to lead his defence, which he did through an unsworn statement. State prosecutors Natasha Backer and Dhanika Singh along with defence counsel George Thomas will make their closing arguments today, after which Justice Reynolds will rule on the voir dire.
