Manchester Secondary edged Lower Corentyne Secondary 39-35 in their U-20 encounter as action in the Youth Basketball Guyana’s (YBG) tourney continued at the Port Mourant Training School Court, Berbice on Wednesday.
Kelvin Kurt led the Manchester offence in the National School Basketball Festival, Ancient County (Berbice) Conference with 11 points and four rebounds while good support was provided by Ellon Williams who netted 10 points and registered three steals. Lower Corentyne’s effort was led by the dominant Mickel Lewis who registered 16 points, four rebounds and three steals. Delon Mingo contributed 10 points to the Lower Corentyne score.
Action in the Georgetown Conference continues tomorrow at the Marian Academy School court, Carifesta Avenue with two slated U-17 encounters. In the opening match-up at 14:00hrs Brickdam Secondary will oppose St. Roses High while Marian Academy will face off with Bishops High at 16:00hrs.
