Digicel Guyana has launched its own smartphone, which the communications provider said will make the Android experience affordable and accessible.
A release from the company said that the Digicel smartphone, called DL600, is available at all Digicel flagship stores from Friday for $24,000.
Digicel’s Head of Sales and Distribution, Nalini Vieira is quoted as saying, “This dynamic smartphone will surely appeal to young people on the go who want style, functionality and affordability – as well as speed to suit their busy lifestyles.
“Digicel is always looking for ways to make our products and services affordable for our customers; the introduction of our very own low cost smartphone helps to make having the full benefits of an Android smartphone a reality for our customers.”
According to the release, the DL600 features a large 3.5 inch display, the latest version of the popular Android OS [operating system] (Jellybean 4.1), a 1 GHz processor and an aesthetically appealing design.
It also comes loaded with a range of popular and useful apps which will allow their customers “to do more, play more, listen more and share more.”
The sleek DL600 will give users the Android experience with an attractive interface for a fraction of the cost of other Android smartphones, the release added..
