Local beverage giants, Banks DIH Limited are now co-sponsors of the National Sports Commission (NSC)/ Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) Independence Half Marathon which is set for tomorrow.
The event, which starts at Paradise Village on the East Coast Demerara and finishes on Main Street in Georgetown, will see athletes rehydrating their bodies with Powerade energy drink and Aqua Mist Water.
NSC Director, Neil Kumar received the beverages yesterday morning from Banks DIH representative Lakerani Sukram at a simple ceremony at the Company’s Special Events Department on Durban Street.
Kumar speaking on behalf of the organizers, expressed gratitude to the beverage company for contributing to the race which will attract some 100 athletes. The presentation was also witnessed by Banks DIH Outdoor Event Manager Mortimer Stewart, Admin-istrative officer of the NSC Gervy C. Harry and Banks DIH employees Jusset McDonald and Niranjan De Abreu. The second edition of the AAG/NSC Half Marathon will start at 05:30 hrs.
