A combined club team of swimmers Joseph Seguina, Onika George, Accalia Khan, Joseph De Nobrega and Leon Seaton Jr. departed yesterday to compete at this weekend’s 22nd Aquatic Centre International swim meet in Barbados.
The swimmers are expected to strive for new personal best times in their respective events at the FINA approved meet which will allow the swimmers an opportunity to attain the FINA Barcelona Worlds standard.
The meet will be held at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, St. Michael.
GASA Secretary, Dee George told Stabroek Sport that the meet will allow the swimmers the opportunity to strengthen their performance.
“This is all in keeping with their development,” she stated.

George enters the event with a seed time of 33.31 seconds, the fastest time ahead of Alexis Clarke and Hannah Gill of PIRAT (Barbados) who are ranked second and third with 34.32 seconds and 35.85 seconds respectively.
