Women benefit from diabetic programme: A group of women in Region Six benefited from a six-week diabetic programme, organised by Guyanese Women Unite in Service & Education (Guyfuse), in partnership with Guyanese Women in Development.
The programme included 30 minutes of cardio workout, yoga, and meditation. Indira Yacoob, President of Guyfuse, who created and managed the programme said it was conducted by Peace Corps Volunteers Krista Brooks and Beth Bai. Dr Lillian Ahmat was also invited to speak about the complications of diabetes. The women who were very enthusiastic about the programme received certificates at the end of the sessions.
