The Ministry of Home Affairs is advising the public that reports of noise nuisance can now be made via text message or by emailing details of the offence to its crime stoppers email address.
In a press release yesterday, the ministry said it is concerned about the recent upsurge in reports about noise nuisance across the country and wishes to assure the public that these reports are taken seriously and reach the level of the police commissioner, followed by directives to divisional commanders to take action.
As such, it encourages the public to continue to report instances of noise nuisance to the nearest police station or divisional headquarters. Reports can also be submitted in writing to Lot 6, Brickdam, Stabroek; via telephone numbers 227-5214 or 227-5219. Text messages can be sent to 623-6068 or 623-6072 and emails to crimestoppersgy@yahoo.com, crimestoppersgy@hotmail.com or crimestoppersgy@gmail.com
The public can also visit the ministry or make reports via its live call-in radio programme every Wednesday at 9pm. It is important that the reports include specific details such as names and addresses which will inform police investigations.
