Under-15 batsman Bhaskar Yadram will lead the Guyana Cricket Board’s squad selected for the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Regional Tournament 2013 which will be held in Jamaica from July 10-26.
Yadram led the Demerara Under-15 team to the Inter-County Competition title in April. His deputy is fellow Demerara all-rounder Ronaldo Mohamed who brings wealth with bat and ball to the table.
The group is backed-up by talented batsmen such as President’s XI opener Raymond Perez, who stroked 59 against Berbice in the 2013 Inter-County Competition, U15 wicket keeper Adrian Sukwah who had decent inter-county performances this year, along with other successful batsmen like Timothy McAlmont, Richie Lucknauth and a few other players.
Their bowling department includes Demerara leg spinner Sagar Hetheramani who took 5 for 7 against the President’s XI, and a remarkable 4 wickets for 9 runs which included 4 wickets in 4 consecutive balls against Essequibo, feats he would surely like to repeat when the tournament starts.
It also features his compatriot young spinner Ashmead Nedd who along with most of his teammates enjoyed an excellent 2013 inter- county competition, together with the other bowlers that will definitely cause trouble.
Senior Berbice coach Julian Moore will oversee the squad, while National coach Gavin Nedd, who coached the team last year, has been elevated to the under-17 squad.
The full squad reads: Bhaskar Yadram (Captain), Ronaldo Mohamed (Vice Captain), Adrian Sukwah (Wicketkeeper), Raymond Perez, Darshan Persaud, Richie Lucknauth, Timothy McAlmont, Mark Williams, Sagar Hetheramani, Ashmed Nedd, Matthew Hardial, Vickram Talmuckund, Christopher Latchman and Sylus Tyndall.
The standbys are Joel Seetaram, Judell McAlister, Kelvin Shewpersaud, Andrew Clifford, Steve Deonarine and Joshua Harrichand.
The team manager named is Virendra Chintaman and Coach Julian Moore.
