Reunion Manganese disclosed that a diversified Spanish company is interested in investing in its operations, when it introduced representatives from that company to APNU Leader David Granger at a meeting on Thursday.
Representatives from the Reunion Manganese team, led by David Fennel and including Joe Byah, Dr Grantley Walrond and Major General (rtd) Norman McLean introduced members of Grupo Ferroatlantica led by Francisco Javier Fernandez Bescos and including Rafael Fuentes and Juan Luis Bernardo to Granger at a meeting at his office.
The group held discussions with Granger and APNU shadow ministers of agriculture, natural resources and the environment Dr Rupert Roopnaraine; legal affairs, attorney general and labour Basil Williams; local government and regional development Ronald Bulkan and policy adviser E Lance Carberry, a press release said.
APNU was informed about the intended relationship between the two companies and it took the opportunity to outline its view for the environmentally and socially sustainable development of Guyana’s mineral resources for the benefit of the nation. Granger also extended APNU’s best wishes for a successful outcome of the groups’ discussions.
