Three men are in custody after the discovery of ammunition, cocaine and an unlicensed gun yesterday and on Friday in the city and at Baramita respectively.
According to a police press release, a quantity of ammunition and cocaine was found in the possession of a man yesterday during a stop and search exercise in the city.
Police said that at around 01:30 hrs police ranks stopped and searched a man at Cross Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, and found 50 rounds of 9mm. ammunition and 3.5 grammes of cocaine in his possession.
He has been arrested and charges will be made shortly, the release said.
Meanwhile, the two other men were held after an unlicensed gun and matching rounds were found at Barima Line, Baramita on Friday night.
The police said that around 21:30 hrs police ranks conducted a search on a shop at Barima Line, Baramita, during which they found an unlicensed .32 pistol with 9 matching rounds.
