Hikers Generals, led by a Randy Hope hat-trick, thrashed a depleted Old Fort side 9-0 in their Kellogg’s men’s first division encounter as action in the Bryden’s Super Classic Indoor Hockey Championships continued on Saturday at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Without the services of Captain Chris Low-Koan and injured midfielder Jason DeSantos, Old Fort were punished as further goals inclusive of a double by Joel Hunte and solitary strikes from Colonel Heywood, Shane Samuels, Robert France and Devin Munroe completed the lopsided encounter.
Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) and Hikers Cadets played to a hard-fought 2-2 draw in their Kellogg’s men’s first division matchup. Travon Younge and Aroydy Branford were on target for Hikers while Leonard George and Orland Semple equalized to earn a share of the spoils for the Bourda side.
Janella Munroe registered a double to propel Hikers Divas to a hard-fought 3-2 victory over GCC Tigers in their Tetley tea women’s division encounter. Kenisha Wills added a solitary strike for Divas while Ashley DeGroot and Kerensa Fernandes were on target for Tigers.
GCC Spice, led by Captain Sonia Jardine’s helmet trick, hammered Hikers Revelation 7-0 in their ladies encounter. Shebiki Baptiste netted a double whilst Samantha Fernandes added one to the score line.
In the Mr. Toppers second division, Hikers edged Ol Skool by a 7-6 score line. Branford who also competes in the lower division, scored six goals in the win while Jamarj Assanah added one.
Philip Fernandes led Ol Skool with a hat trick while Dexter Wyles and Damon Woodroffe registered a double and solitary goal respectively for Ol Skool.
GCC, through a Michael Xavier brace, needled Saints 3-2 in their second division contest. Daniel Hope scored for the Bourda boys. Hilton Chester led the Saints offense with a double.
In the final second division encounter Old Fort defeated the injury prone All Greys 3-0 via walk-over.
