Last week’s feature, ‘It’s not just comedy for Odessa Primus’, reported in the twelfth paragraph: “Her father, being a womaniser never took care of her or her siblings and he had a number of offspring with numerous women.”
This sentence was in fact a misinterpretation between the writer and Primus during the interview. Primus has since explained that the absence of her father was mostly due to his work in the interior.
But that he supported her and her siblings financially and today still assists her whenever necessary. She also explained that the reason she mentioned he had numerous children was because she did not want any of her relatives to feel left out.
The Scene regrets the misunderstanding and apologises for any problems that subsequently occurred.
