Fruta Conquerors FC through a Jermin Garrett second half strike in the 48th minute defeated BK Western Tigers FC 1-0 in a hard fought contest as the Fruta Conquerors sponsored U-13 league competition commenced at the Tucville Community Centre Ground yesterday.
Unable to breakdown the dogged rearguard defence of the West Ruimveldt side, Garrett, upon receiving a lobbed cross from fellow forward Diarra Thomas from the right flank, lashed home his right footed effort to the bottom left hand corner to seal the win.
A Nicholas McArthur double in the 42nd and 48th minutes powered Georgetown Football Club (GFC) to a 3-0 blanking of Fruta Conquerors ‘A’. Josiah King added to the GFC score line with a goal in the 50th minute.
