Colin Ming defied tough conditions and a strong field to win last Saturday’s Trophy Stall sponsored Medal Play Golf tournament at the Lusignan Golf Course.
Ming shot net 68 from gross 81 playing off 13 handicap to come out victorious after rain had threatened to forced the postponement of the tournament.
He also had the best gross of 81.
LGC President Jerome Khan copped the second position after he shot net 69 from 87 gross playing off 18 handicap.
Lakeram Ramsundar, an 11 handicapper finished third with net 70 from gross 81 while Clifford Reis placed fourth with net 73 gross 93 (20 handicap).
Brian Glasford was Nearest to the Pin.
Yog Mahadeo, Secretary of the LGC was loud in praise for proprietor Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall who has continued to be a firm supporter of golf in Guyana. According to Mahadeo, the Lusignan golf Club looks forward to continued partnership with Trophy Stall well into the future.
The Company was represented by Leroy Jack who assisted in presenting the prizes to the outstanding players.
Meanwhile, the Wartsila Guyana Operations sponsored tournament is scheduled for Saturday weather permitting as the LGC prepares to run off a double header programme this weekend.
The previously rescheduled Safeway Security Pro/Am tournament is carded for Sunday.
