Two of the sponsors for the Guyana Trade Show and Tourism Exposition slated for June 23 and 24th in Toronto, Canada and June 28-30 in New York on Monday handed over sponsorship cheques to the Ministry of Tourism at the Ministry’s boardroom on South Road.
Fly Jamaica and New GPC on Monday handed over cheques to the tune of US$2,500 US and US$5,000 respectively.
Minister of Tourism, Irfaan Ali at the brief ceremony said that the Ministry decided to collaborate with the local private sector in an effort to promote their products to a wider market. He said that the ministry will ensure that they take tour operators to venues to collaborate with travel agents and to promote tourism products and to also ensure that they benefit from the potential of the diaspora market.
The expo is aimed at giving overseas-based Guyanese the opportunity to see the products and services that are now available for sale.
