A man was brutally chopped to death this morning at a mining camp in Big Creek, Region One.
According to limited information reaching this newspaper the man, who has not yet been identified, almost had his head severed by another miner with whom he had a longstanding feud. Reports are that the alleged perpetrator is now in custody as he sat and waited on the police to travel to the area.
Reports are that the men once worked together and the deceased was accused of boiling some poisonous substances which other miners drank and fell ill.
“It appears as if this man was just waiting for an opportunity to get back at the deceased,” a source told this newspaper.
The body is expected to be transported to Port Kaituma shortly.
