In the male category, Mahaica Primary was crowned the Upper East Coast and Region #4 champions after they defeated Ann’s Grove Primary by 55 runs.
Mahaica, after being invited to bat, scored 84-1 with Orland Haynes and Jade Moore scoring 37 and 26 runs respectively. Ann’s Grove in reply struggled to 29-8 from their allotted overs. Rayon Harry scored 10 runs.
Bowling for the winners, eventual player of the final Trevon Lewis picked up a tournament best five wickets.
In the lone contested boys’ semi-final fixture, Mahaica Primary 58-5 defeated Clonbrook Primary 53-6 by five runs. Dale Ireland top scored for the winners with 21 runs.
Ireland and Haynes were the adjudged to be Most Valuable Players (MVPs) of the tournament.
